TVC presents Cooper Tire with Employer Award

National Employer: Cooper Tire & Rubber Company

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company is a global company that specializes in the design, manufacture, marketing and sales of passenger car and light truck tires and subsidiaries that specialize in medium truck, motorcycle and racing tires. Began operations in 1914, when brothers-in-law John F. Schaefer and Claude E. Hart purchased M and M Manufacturing Company in Akron, producing tire patches, tire cement and tire repair kits. Corporate headquarters are in Findlay, Ohio. Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has a Texas workforce of 185 with 22 Veterans.

 

TVC presents Bell Helicopter with Employer Award

Large Employer: Bell Helicopter

Founded in 1935 as Bell Aircraft Corporation, Bell continues to set the pace for the industry and expand the scope of vertical lift.  With forward thinking in advanced concepts, Bell Helicopter invented tilt rotor aircraft. These unique aircraft lift like a helicopter, then fly like an airplane with twice the speed, three times the payload and five times the range of traditional helicopters. Aerospace and aircraft will never be the same.  Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Bell Helicopter has additional plants in Amarillo, Texas and Mirabel, Canada.  Of Bell Helicopter’s 1,061 Texas based employees 403 are Veterans.  

 

TVC presents Lowes with Employer Award

Medium Employer: Lowe’s

Founded in 1946, Lowe’s has grown from a small hardware store to the 2nd largest home improvement retailer worldwide.   Lowe’s stores stock 40,000 products in 20 product categories ranging from appliances to tools, to paint, lumber and nursery products.  The Lowe’s store in Granbury, Texas employs 133 Texans with 64 of those being Veterans.

 

TVC presents Securitas Security with Employer Award

Small Employer: Securitas Security

Securitas is the most locally-focused security company in the United States, with services that include guarding services, patrols and inspections, access control, concierge and receptionist services, security console operators, alarm response, and specialized client requested services. Securitas entered the U.S. market in 1999, with the acquisition of Pinkerton. At the time, Securitas was already the leading protective services company in Europe.   The company has a Texas workforce of 38 with 11 of those being Veterans.

 

TVC presents Topflite Environmental Services with Employer Award

Disabled Veteran Employer: Topflite Environmental Services

Topflite Environmental Services is building cleaning & maintenance services company.  Services include coating and caulking and weather and water and fireproofing, pest control, electrical services, plumbing and heating and air conditioning, painting and paper hanging, masonry and stonework and tile setting, carpentry, flooring service and refurbishing services.  85% of the company’s Texas based workforce are Veterans.
