The grant application solicitation period opens twice a year.  Look for the next application period to open in July 2012.  Below you can find the most recent Grant Application, Instructions and Fiscal Guidelines.  If you are interested in receiving an email notification at the beginning of the next application period, please send your contact information to subscribe@tvc.state.tx.us.

FVA Fiscal Guidelines

Applicants should thoroughly read the applicable Fiscal Guidelines prior to applying for a grant. After reading the Guidelines, organizations should determine if they have the administrative and fiscal management capacity to comply with FVA requirements.
After a grant has been awarded, Grantees should regularly refer to the Guidelines throughout the life of the grant to ensure compliance with FVA requirements.

What are Reimbursement Grants?

The Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance awards grants on a cost reimbursement basis. Under the cost reimbursement method of funding, a Grantee is required to finance its operations with its own working capital with Grant payments made to reimburse the Grantee for actual cash disbursements supported by adequate documentation. An initial payment of up to 10% of the total amount of the grant can be made. The subsequent expenses will be matched against the initial payment until a zero balance is reached to be followed by expenses that will be reimbursed up to the total amount of the grant.

To be reimbursed for allowable expenses, all grantees are required to submit monthly expenditure reports. These expenditure reports will include supporting documentation of all expenses incurred. Supporting documentation can take the form of an invoice, time sheets, receipt or contract, supported by a copy of a canceled check/electronic copy or other document supporting that the transaction was enacted; ie., bank statement, electronic reference, etc.
